Welcome to Temuka Pottery
From the township of Temuka, on the South Canterbury plains, since 1931, New Zealand Insulators has proudly designed & produced Temuka Pottery. A legacy and a responsibility. |
Our brand is pure New Zealand heritage - and thousands of kiwi households use Temuka Pottery on a daily basis. It lasts and lasts.
Of course many New Zealanders know Temuka Pottery as the curvy brown Riverstone series designed by the late Jack Laird of Nelson. Launched in 1971, the beautiful Riverstone sold millions of pieces.
Like most pottery ventures, Temuka suffered at the hands of very cheap imports - but the good news is that Temuka Pottery is making something of a comeback. Our brand represents hand-crafted durability.
We're working hard to ensure Temuka Pottery is commercially sustainable.

Pivotal in this initiative has been the reopening of a Temuka Pottery Shop in Mendelson Barn on the State Highway One Bypass in Temuka. Operated under license by Charles & Amanda Scarsbrook, the owners of 100% Homemade Café.

| As you'll see in this website, we're developing the Temuka range, and we have hired additional local production staff as volumes have grown.
We welcome you to support our brand and enjoy our products - by visiting the Shop, or purchasing from this website. |
